90s kids unite! Prepare to chant the famous “Tapusin! Tapusin!” line as Netflix announced Thursday, Oct. 12, that the live adaptation of “Yu Yu Hakusho” popularly known as “Ghost Fighter” for Filipino fans will arrive on December 14.
“Tapusin! Tapusin! na ang paghihintay because Yu Yu Hakusho arrives on Netflix December 14,” its caption read.
The series, based on the Japanese manga by Yoshihiro Togashi in 1990, follows Yusuke Urameshi who dies while trying to save a kid and moves in the spirit world to be an underworld detective, probing case after case that involve demons.
The cast includes Takumi Kitamura as Yusuke, Jun Shison as Kurama, Kanata Hongo as Hiei, and Shuhei Uesugi as Kazuma Kuwabara.
Netflix first announced the upcoming live-action series in 2021 with the caption: “Welcome to the spirit world. Based on the legendary manga by Yoshihiro Togashi, YU YU HAKUSHO - the live action series - arrives December 2023!”
