Senator Lito Lapid on Thursday suggested combining the old and new tourism slogans and call it “Wow, It's more fun! Love, the Philippines!” to bolster the country’s tourism further.

He floated the idea amidst the criticisms against the newly enhanced tourism brand rolled by the Department of Tourism (DOT).

“Tulad nina dating Tourism Sec. Dick Gordon sa "Wow Philippines", Sec. Ramon Jimenez sa "It's More Fun in the Philippines" at ngayon Sec. Frasco sa "Love the Philippines." Pagsama-samahin natin yan para mas lumakas ang turismo dito sa Pilipinas "Wow, It's more fun! Love, the Philippines!” Lapid said in a statement.

The Senator said that the misunderstanding in the "Love the Philippines" Audio Visual Presentation (AVP) should not eradicate the tourism department's month-long preparation.

The AVP recently became controversial after the advertising agency DDB Philippines admitted using non-original videos or stock footage of other countries in the campaign tourism video.

Lapid commended Frasco for deciding to terminate DOT’s contract with DBB Philippines.

“Tama rin po ang ginawa ng DDB Group na akuin agad ang responsibilidad sa pagsasapubliko ng video na para lamang sa mga “internal stakeholder”,” he added.

The Senator appealed to the public to give DOT and Frasco a second chance.

“Buo po ang tiwala at kumpiyansa ko kay Sec. Frasco at sa DOT at inaanyayahan ko po ang ating mga kababayan na magpakita rin ng suporta sa kanila. Kung magtagumpay po ang DOT sa kanilang trabaho, buong bansa po natin ang panalo. Maraming salamat po,” he added.
