The rap-rock band Linkin Park is debuting with a new album, with two additional members in the mix, following the death of former lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017.
On Thursday, the band made their big announcement through a livestream on YouTube, highlighting the new lineup. Band members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and DJ Joe Hahn were joined on stage by new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.
The new lineup kicked off with a performance from their new single, ‘The Emptiness Machine’, with Shinoda and Armstrong seamlessly meshing their vocals together.

Armstrong is the co-founder of the alternative rock band Dead Sara, while Brittain is a songwriter and producer. The members have previously worked together with the two members. They are set to embark on a new chapter with the ‘From Zero’ album and world tour in the second half of September 2024.
Its title is reminiscent of the band’s roots, as Shinoda mentioned that their original name was supposed to be Xero. A subtle nod to their group’s beginnings, including the present and future, with a whole new rhythm in mind.
“Thank you guys so much for being here. This is a special day for us,” Shinoda said.
“I wanted to start by doing some introductions; on the bass guitar, we have Mr. Dave Phoenix, on the drums, this is Colin Brittain; on the turntable, this is Mr. Hahn; filling in for our dear friend Mr. Brad Delson, this is Alex Feder; my name is Mike, this is Emily, and in the role of Chester Bennington this afternoon is each of you,” he continued.
