A magnitude 6.3 earthquake rocked the municipality of Calatagan in Batangas on Thursday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

In an advisory, state seismologists said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, occurred at 10:19 AM west of Calatagan, Batangas with a depth of 103 kilometers.

The said quake was reportedly felt in different parts of Metro Manila as well as neighboring provinces. PHIVOLCS reported Intensity IV in Quezon City.

Damage and aftershocks are expected following the earthquake, it added.
