The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) announced on Monday that Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1 and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3 will be offering free rides at a selected time to all Filipino seafarers on Sunday, June 25.
The free ride is in commemoration of Filipino Seafarer Day.
According to MARINA, the libreng sakay in the 20 stations of LRT-1 will start from 7 AM until 9 AM.
In the afternoon, free rides will be offered from 5 PM to 7 PM.
Meanwhile, the MRT-3 will have whole-day libreng sakay, which means Filipino seafarers can ride the train for free starting at 5:30 AM until the railway's operation ends at 10:11 PM.
To have access to the free ride initiatives, MARINA said each seafarer must present a valid Seafarer's Record Book (SRB) or any Seafarer's Identity Document (SID).
