The Liberal Party (LP), the dominant opposition, has no official candidates yet for the 2025 midterm election, its spokesperson Leila de Lima said on Friday, March 1.
De Lima made the clarification during The Agenda forum in Club Filipino in San Juan City, according to RH Edniel Parrosa's report.

The LP spokesperson said there is no decision yet if former Senators Benigno 'Bam' Aquino, Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan, and human rights lawyer Chel Diokno will be the opposition patry's candidates.
"It was just mentioned. There will be the right time for the opposition to announce the official slate," de Lima said.
She also took note that former Vice President Leni Robredo remains an LP member despite running as an independent during the 2022 National and Local Elections (NLE).
In the 2022 NLE, the opposition party formally nominated Diokno, de Lima, Pangilinan, and Senator Risa Hontiveros for the senatorial race.
Pangilinan, however, then became Robredo's running mate. He ran for the vice president post.
