Lian Paz discloses daughters' request to change surnames, no longer wanting to use Paolo Contis' name.
In an announcement on her Instagram page, the former EB babe congratulated her daughter Xonia for being recognized as the top student in her class, showcasing her certificate.
"Congratulations our dear Ate Xonia!!! My Nia2x! You ended your first year in highschool as Top 1 in your class and overall Top achiever in your Grade level!" she wrote.

Praising her daughter's consistent excellence in school, Paz expressed her admiration for Xonia's perseverance and gratitude to God for the gift bestowed upon her.
"You have always been consistent being excellent in school, I am amazed with your perseverance and I am grateful to God for that gift to you. Continue to honor the lord in everything! I am proud of you xonia! always have!!!" she added.
Netizens flooded Paz and Xonia with congratulatory messages, with one user, @purple_riz, remarking on the child's surname.
"Bitbit pa apelyido wala naman ambag ahahaha anyway congrats.. you have long way to go.. Aim high!" the comment read.
Paz promptly responded, stating, "asking na nga po ang mga bata to have it changed."
In another post, Paz shared the news of Xalene's successful completion of elementary school with high honors.

Paz and Contis tied the knot in 2009 but confirmed their separation in 2012.
She revealed in 2018 that she has been the sole provider for Xonia and Xalene since their highly publicized split.
Earlier this year, Contis admitted that he has not been providing financial support to his children, citing personal reasons for his decision.
Aside from Xonia and Xalene, Contis also has a daughter named Summer with his former partner, actress LJ Reyes.
Contis is presently in a relationship with actress Yen Santos.
