Former vice president Leni Robredo will run for the Naga City mayoral seat in the 2025 midterm elections.
For her running mate, Robredo selected outgoing Camarines Sur Rep. Gabriel Bordado. Before serving in Congress, he had served as vice mayor of Naga City, in tandem with Robredo’s late husband, Jesse Robredo.
On Friday, October 4, the camp of the former Vice President also named the members of her city council slate, whom she chose after intensive consultations with Naga residents, organizations, and sectors. More than 2,000 Nagueños took part in it. The members o 'Team Naga' include:
- Outgoing City Administrator Elmer Baldemoro
- Incumbent Councilor Jess Albeus
- Incumbent Councilor Gayle Abonal-Gomez
- Outgoing City Budget Officer Frank Mendoza
- Atty. Areiz Macaraig
- Former City Health Officer Dr. Butch Borja
- Former Councilor Miles Raquid-Arroyo
- Incumbent Councilor Omar Buenafe
- Incumbent Councilor Jose Perez
- Incumbent Councilor Oying Rosales
“Ang aking mga kasama ngayon, lahat na-evaluate base sa tatlong kategorya: sa ethical standards, sa capacity at experience, sa governance,” Robredo said in Bicolano.
