Detained former Senator Leila de Lima has accepted the position of Vice President for Progressive Policies and Reforms of the Liberal Party (LP), LP President and Albay 1st District Rep. Edcel Lagman announced on Monday.
In a Facebook post, Lagman attached the gratitude letter he penned to de Lima.
"I am truly delighted and excited by your earnest acceptance of the position of Vice President for Progressive Policies and Reforms of the Liberal Party of the Philippines," he wrote in the letter dated March 19.
"Together with the Partry leadership and membership, we shall sustain the enduring advocacies of the LP," he added.
The Albay Congressman said the political party is anticipating de Lima's release and vindication.
The camp of de Lima is now awaiting for the resolution to the bail request they filed. The hearing for the bail request was held on Monday.
De Lima was among the Senatorial lineup of the LP during the May 2022 local and national elections.
