Sen. Loren Legarda was named Senate President Pro Tempore on Monday, May 11, as part of a leadership reorganization in the upper chamber.

The nomination came from Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, formalizing Legarda’s new role during the Senate’s internal restructuring.

The leadership shake-up also saw Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano installed as the new Senate President.

The changes were made during a session of the Senate of the Philippines, marking a transition in the chamber’s top leadership positions.
