A Las Piñas court has issued a warrant of arrest against former Bureau of Correction (BuCor) chief Gerald Bantag and four others over the murder of radio broadcaster Percival ‘Percy Lapid’ Mabasa.
In the warrant issued on Friday, April 14, Las Piñas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 254 presiding judge Harold Huliganga also orders the arrest of former BuCor deputy security officer Ricardo Zulueta, Israel Dimaculangan, Edmon Dimaculangan, and Alias Orly.
“The bail for the release of the accused in this case is fixed at not bailable for murder (RPC Art. 248),” Huliganga stated.
According to the issuance, the four accused have the right to use at least one body-worn camera and one or two alternative recording devices "to capture and record the relevant incidents in the execution of this warrant."
On Thursday, Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 206 ordered the arrest of Bantag and Zulueta in connection to the murder of inmate Cristito Jun Villamor, who is tagged as the alleged middleman, in the Percy Lapid slay case.
The Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) is now conducting manhunt operations to capture Bantag and Zulueta.
