Senator Panfilo Lacson on Wednesday addressed the claim of Vice President Leni Robredo where she said he lacks "on-the-ground" work.
Robredo, in an interview with talk show host Boy Abunda, was asked about why shouldn't Filipinos vote for Lacson.
"Maraming salita pero kulang sa on-the-ground na gawa," she responded.
(He says a lot be he lacks on-the-ground work.)
Addressing the matter on Twitter, Lacson disputed Robredo's claim.
"Hindi ako kulang sa 'on the ground.' Hindi lang talaga ako ma-epal tuwing magbibigay ng tulong sa mga kalamidad man o sa mga indibidwal na tulong," he said.
(I am not lacking ‘on the ground.’ I am just not trying to get everyone’s attention when giving help during calamities or when extending help to individuals.)
The senator in the past showed his disapproval of what he said is "calamity politics," calling it "the lowest form of campaigning" and "abominable."
Lacson and Robredo are both running for the presidency in the May 2022 national elections.
