After three years of hiatus, the first Filipina K-pop idol, Kriesha Chu, is now back in the spotlight in the music scene!
Filipino-American soloist Kriesha Chu has signed an exclusive contract with New Way Company after being away from the K-pop scene due to lymphedema.
In an official statement released by Korean agency New Way Company on Wednesday, Kriesha signed an exclusive contract, keeping her loyalty to her former manager, who did not leave her side until the moment her contract ended with Urban Works Entertainment.
According to the entertainment agency, the team is delighted and excited to work with the 24-year-old Filipina-American soloist, who has already established her name in the K-pop world and is loved by the public for her incredible vocal skills and bright and lovely charm.
With such an official statement, it is expected that the singer will not only focus on growing her career in the music scene but will also try different areas like acting, modeling, and broadcasting.
As she started off using Kriesha Chu for promotion, the company also informed the public that she would be facing a new beginning by using “Kriesha” as her stage name.
In 2017, Kriesha initially made her way to the K-pop stage after finishing second place on SBS’s “K-pop Star 6," signed with Urban Works Entertainment, and released her single “Trouble” in the same year.
She also participated in the Korean variety show “King of Masked Singers” as Nine-Tailed Fox. She also made a cameo appearance in the Netflix original show “Busted! "and collaborated with Samuel Kim for an OST for the webtoon “Pink Pink.”
Everyone is excited for your comeback, Kriesha!
