South Korean artist G-Dragon of boy group BIGBANG on Wednesday, Oct. 26, was reportedly booked without detention by a police agency in Incheon for his alleged drug use.
Based on an article by Soompi, South Korean media outlet News1 reported that the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency arrested G-Dragon over a violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics.
“Because it’s a case that’s currently under investigation, we cannot reveal concrete details,” the police said as quoted by Soompi.
They also cleared that the artists’ case was not connected to actor Lee Sun Gyun who was earlier probed for drug use.
“This is a separate case that has no connection to Lee,” the police added.
In the same report, South Korean record label YG Entertainment also referred to comment on the matter as G-Dragon was “not an artist under our agency,” making it hard for them to issue an official statement.
YG Entertainment earlier stated that G-Dragon’s exclusive contract with them had expired.
