'Zombie Detective' actress Jung Chae-yul passes away at 26

South Korean actress Jung Chae-yul, who starred in the K-drama 'Zombie Detective,' has passed away on Tuesday, April 11. She was 26.

Her agency Management S confirmed her passing in a statement: "Today, we have to tell you very heartbreaking and unfortunate news. Actor Jung Chae-yul left us on April 11, 2023."

"According to the wishes of the bereaved family, who must be in greater sorrow than anyone else, the funeral will be held quietly and privately," the statement read.

“We hope that actor Chae-yul, who has always been sincere in front of acting, can rest in peace in a warm place. We earnestly ask you to refrain from spreading rumors and speculative reports in this regard,” it added.

According to an exclusive report from Star News, the model actress was found dead in her home earlier on Tuesday. No further details were shared by the media outlet.

Jung was currently filming for the drama "Wedding Impossible." However, with her passing, the production company stated that they will be canceling filming until April 12 and are attempting to figure out the exact details.

Jung Chae-yul debuted as a model under ESteem Entertainment in 2015 and debuted as an actor in 2018 in the movie “Deep.”

She appeared in the 2020 Netflix film “Time to Hunt” starring Lee Je-hoon , Ahn Jae-hong , Choi Woo-shik , Park Jung-min and Park Hae-soo. In addition, she appeared in the dramas “Zombie Detective” and “I Have Not Done My Best.”
