Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday, January 18, that King Charles would seek treatment for an enlarged prostate.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace said that the 75-year-old British sovereign’s condition is “benign”, and his hospital visit for next week would be a “corrective procedure.”
“The King’s public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation,” Palace said.
Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales Kate Middleton was also admitted to hospital due to a planned abdominal surgery, which according to Kensington Palace has been successful.
“Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,” it stated.
