Britain's King Charles III is looking forward to visiting the Philippines soon, PH Ambassador to the United Kingdom (UK) Teodoro Locsin Jr. said.
In a statement posted by PH Embassy in the UK on Friday, Locsin said His Majesty made the remark during their short encounter following the presentation of credentials ceremony held at Buckingham Palace last May 16.
"The King expressed gratitude for the contributions of Filipinos in the UK, particularly healthcare workers, and expressed hope to meet with and engage the community more," the PH Ambassador to the UK said.
"The King also looked forward to an opportunity to visit the Philippines again soon," he added.
Locsin is said to be the first envoy to present his credentials before King Charles III.
During the presentation of credentials ceremony, he was joined by his wife Maria Lourdes Locsin, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Rhenita Rodriguez, Minister and Consul Ana Marie Hernando, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Beatriz Alexandra Martinez, and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Emilio O. Lopue, Jr.
Meanwhile, in a Twitter post, Locsin shared some of the conversations he had with King Charles III.
"The King asked me about the wellbeing of First Lady Imelda Marcos; I said she was in good health," he recounted.

He added that he told King Charles III that President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. was a former student of the Catholic boarding school Worth and the University of Oxford.
"The King was very gracious with each of my party—Rhenita Rodriguez (Deputy Chief of Mission), Ana Hernando (Minister), Beatriz Martinez (Second Secretary), and Emilio Lopue, Jr. (Third Secretary) about their individual work assignments," Locsin said.
