This Saturday, May 6, Great Britain will have its new monarch after seven decades.
But before the grand coronation of their majesties King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles, let us have a quick rundown of the guests who will attend the historic day.
According to Buckingham Palace, there will be 2,000 attendees who will personally witness the coronation.
Among the guests are the following foreign royalties:
- King Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand
- King Carl XVI Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden
- King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians
- The Crown Prince and Princess of Japan
- Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Crown of Romania, and Prince Radu
- The Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg
- Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia
- The Crown Prince and Princess of Norway
- King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain
- King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands
- The Sovereign Prince and Princess of Monaco
- Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark
- King Jigme Khesar and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan
Key political figures and world leaders will also be part of the guest list.
Philippine President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos himself flew straight from his state visit to the United States to the United Kingdom to attend the coronation.
US President Joe Biden will be represented by First Lady Jill Biden as confirmed by the latter.
Meanwhile, according to reports, French President Emmanuel Macron, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will be attending the royal ceremony.
Last Wednesday, March, 3 hundred of the United Kingdom's army, navy, and Royal Air Force executed full dress rehearsals in preparation for the grand coronation.
Buckingham Palace earlier unveiled that historic garments and chairs will be reused for the King and the Queen Consort’s coronation.
The 74-year-old former Prince of Wales will be officially crowned as Britain’s King following the passing of Queen Elizabeth III.
The coronation will be held at Westminster Abbey, London this Saturday, May 6.
