TV host-actress Kim Chiu officially confirmed that she and actor Xian Lim had called it quits after 12 years of being together.
Kim confirmed the break-up in an Instagram post on Saturday, Dec. 243, saying that “sometimes love is not enough” in a relationship.
“End of a love story. It took me a while to say this until today. We owe our supporters the truth, but we also respect each other’s time of healing. In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough,” she said.
“We shared more than a decade of love, each other’s support system, and many beautiful memories. It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship,” the 33-year-old actress continued.
Kim thanked their supporters for the love, support, and understanding and asked them to allow them to move forward in private.
She then expressed gratitude to Xian for the “12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine.”

In a separate Instagram post, Xian penned a sweet farewell message to Kim.
“The 12 years of my life with you was the best gift I could ever ask for. We have expressed our love for each other to the fullest and knowing that I got to share those moment with you, knowing our hearts beat as one at one point in our lives is truly something I will cherish for life,” he said in the caption.
The 34-year-old actor added that all good things must come to an end eventually.
“I am grateful for all the moments we shared together. Thank you for all the unconditional love throughout the years,” Xian said, adding that his respect for Kim as a person, artist, and former lover “will always remain.”
“I wish that you will find all the happiness and love you are searching for. You deserve nothing but the best. No goodbyes here, [I]'ll see you around petunia,” the actor furthered.

Prior to the breakup confirmation, rumors speculating that KimXi had broken up were circulating for weeks.
Xian and Kim became a love team in the romantic-comedy television series “My Binondo Girl” which aired in 2011.
In 2013, Xian first confirmed in a television interview that he and Kim were exclusively seeing each other.
