Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Jiwon are confirmed to lead in the upcoming drama titled "Queen of Tears"!

Production company Studio Dragon officially announced the confirmation of writer Park Ji Eun's new drama 'Queen of Tears' on Monday, December 5.

Park Ji Eun wrote the hit dramas "My Love From the Star" and "Producer," in which Kim Soo Hyun starred as the lead character.

With the upcoming Korean drama, she will be reuniting with director Jang Young Woo, with who she previously worked on the drama "Crash Landing on You."

With the drama 'Queen of Tears,' Kim Soo Hyun will take on the lead role of Baek Hyun Woo while Kim Ji Won will take the role of his wife Hong Hae In.

The said drama will capture a miraculous, thrilling, and humorous love story of a married couple, surviving a crisis and staying with each other against all odds.

This will be the first time that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won will star together in a drama.

Kim Soo Hyun became a star after gaining further success with the fantasy romantic comedy My Love from the Star (2013–2014),variety-drama The Producers (2015), romantic comedy It's Okay to Not Be Okay (2020), and the thriller One Ordinary Day (2021).

On the other hand, Kim Ji Won gained attention through her roles in television series The Heirs (2013) and Descendants of the Sun (2016), Fight for My Way (2017), Arthdal Chronicles (2019), Lovestruck in the City (2020-2021), and My Liberation Notes (2022).

'Queen of Tears' will start filming in the first half of 2023 and is currently scheduled to air in the second half of the year.
