One of the most sought-after names in photography has cemented his place in The Getty Museum’s permanent collection, featuring portraits of women like KC Concepcion and Iza Calzado.

On Tuesday, photographer Mark Nicdao shared through Instagram, a screenshot of some of his portfolio, which is now part of the museum’s permanent collection and official website. Mark extended his appreciation to the museum, his team, and everyone part of the process.

Paul Martineau, Neal Oshima, Steve Tirona, Puey Quiñones, Iza Calzado❤️, Queenmelo Esguerra, Jo Ann Bitagcol, Michael Salientes, Patrice Diaz, Kc Concepcion, Nancy Castglione, Rogue Magazine, Miguel Mari, Miguel Lugtu, Mela Lopa-Mari, Celeste Tuviera Juan Sarte, Pucci and Jeeb from Shutterspace Studios!” he captioned his post.

“And my amazing team! Celebration coming soon!😁 Life is amazing,” he added.

Subsequently, KC Concepcion made a separate post, praising Mark for his new achievement.

“LA has this undeniable way of pulling me back, and this moment is one of those times. I’ve always known Mark Nicdao was destined for greatness, but where he is now is all him: raw talent, vision, relentless hard work, and the mind (and heart!) of a genius,” she captioned her post.

“I’m beyond honored to share that a photograph of mine from 2008, captured by my dear friend and creative visionary Mark Nicdao - and wearing Puey Quiñones - has been acquired (along with his other incredible works) by none other than the iconic Getty,” she added.

The actress said that she and Mark had been through so many creative adventures, adding how inspiring it is to see his extraordinary talent celebrated. Being part of the milestone made it more meaningful for KC.

“Mark, I’m so proud of you and so grateful to be part of YOUR moment. Here’s to timeless art, enduring friendships, and the magic that comes from chasing dreams. Marky, here’s to many more pursuits together. Always your biggest fan,” KC expressed.

The Getty Museum featured five of the photographer’s works on their website. Among the five photographs featured are images of celebrities KC Concepcion and Iza Calzado.

KC’s photograph is titled “K.C. Conception, Makati,” which was taken in 2008, and printed in inkjet print in 2023. According to the website description, KC’s photo is of “A woman with her arms outstretched and one leg raised. She is wearing a dress with many ruffled layers cascading down the front. It has a V neckline lined with large stones. The dress was designed by Puey Quiñones.”

Additionally, Iza’s photograph had an X-ray view of a skull overlaid on her face. The website indicated that the photo was taken in 2012, and printed in inkjet print in 2023. Its description was an “X-ray view of a skull superimposed over the face of a woman.”

The Getty Museum is located in Los Angeles, California, and features art pieces from several periods in time, including global photography today.

Earlier this week, Mark shared through his Instagram stories that the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) permitted him to export his printed photographs to the United States.
