

Kayla Sanchez bowed out of medal contention in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
Sanchez failed to secure one of the eight spots for the finals of the women's 100 meters freestyle after she clocked in 54.21 seconds in the semifinals on Tuesday, July 30 (Paris Time).
Siobhan Bernadette Haughey of Hong Kong topped the semifinals after she registered a time of 52.64 seconds while American Swimmer Gretchen Walsh finished the race in 53.18 seconds to earn the last ticket to the finals.
Sanchez, who won two medals in the last Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan, advanced to the semifinals in Paris after she clocked in 53.67 seconds in the quarterfinals.
The feat also allowed her to shatter the previous national record, 54.25 seconds, which she set during a tournament last June.
