Viva Hotbabes member Katya Santos has addressed circulating rumors and unrealistic expectations surrounding a possible reunion concert, clarifying that no such event is currently planned.
Following the buzz generated by the successful reunion concert of iconic dance group SexBomb Girls, speculation quickly spread on social media that Viva Hotbabes might follow suit. These rumors prompted Katya to speak up and set the record straight.
In a social media post captioned “NO REUNION HAPPENING,” Katya shared a screenshot of a local news item that had fueled speculation about a supposed reunion concert, firmly denying the claim.
Fellow Viva Hotbabes member Andrea Del Rosario also weighed in through the comments, clarifying how her previous statements were misunderstood. She explained, “And in interviews, I said “ I do hope so” and “why not”, I didn’t say it’s for sure po.” Andrea further clarified the situation by adding, “So now it’s “officially” that we are not having any reunion show/concert anytime soon. Thanks po”
In another post, Katya shared a more reflective message explaining why a reunion is unlikely at this time. She wrote, “Unfortunately, we all have our own different paths to prioritize right now. We love the idea but it may not happen anytime soon.”
She also emphasized the group’s gratitude for their legacy and cultural impact, stating, “We’d like to gently set the record straight. Viva Hotbabes holds a place in Philippine pop culture that we’re deeply grateful for.”
Reflecting on what the group represented, Katya added, “Not because of hype or comparison, but because we were part of a time that celebrated confidence, individuality, and fearless self-expression. We weren’t just a group — we were a moment, a feeling, and a reflection of an era that many still remember fondly.”
Addressing criticisms about their performance background, she clarified, “Yes, we are actresses and models. We never claimed to be professional dancers, and we were never meant to be.”
Katya also touched on comparisons between Viva Hotbabes and the SexBomb Girls, expressing respect and admiration for the latter’s achievements. She noted, “Their recent concert success is a beautiful reminder of how much they are loved, and we sincerely congratulate them on that milestone.” She further explained, “They are celebrated for what they do. We are appreciated for what we did. Different styles. Different strengths.”
Responding to online criticism, Katya remained composed and appreciative of long-time supporters. She said, “We respect that everyone has opinions. Ours is simple — we’re proud of the work we did and grateful that it still resonates with people today.”
She concluded her message with heartfelt gratitude to fans, writing:
“To those who continue to support and understand us:
Thank you for remembering the joy, confidence, and energy we brought.
Some stories don’t need competition they simply live on in memory.
To everyone who has ever supported The Viva Hotbabes —
Thank you for seeing us for who we were, who we are, and who we continue to be: grateful, proud, and forever thankful for the love.
We are who we are.
We’ve always been.
And we move forward with gratitude, not the need to prove anything.
Viva Hotbabes — nothing more, nothing less.
Love and light always,
On behalf of the lovely ladies of VHB,
Katya Santos.”
