Filipina actress Kathryn Bernardo took home the Outstanding Asian Star award at the 18th Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) 2023 held in Seoul, South Korea on Thursday, September 22.
The 27-year-old actress bagged the award for her portrayal of Ali in the ABS-CBN romantic comedy television series “2 Good 2 Be True”.
Kathryn flew to Seoul to attend the awards night and personally receive the trophy.
Donned in an all-white two-piece ab-baring dress by Filipino fashion designer Martin Bautista, she graced the red carpet of SDA 2023.

In her short acceptance speech, Kathryn thanked her "2 Good 2 Be True" team and her co-actor and real life partner, Daniel Padilla.
The actress said the television series had made her appreciate all the nurses and health workers.
Kathryn shared that she already felt like a winner when she first found out that she was nominated and recognized for her craft by the international award-giving body.
“2 Good 2 Be True is the first-ever team-up of ABS-CBN and Netflix and I hope we continue to produce world-class projects not just for Filipinos, but for the world to see. I am proud and humbled to be on the stage representing Filipino talent,” she added.

Aside from Kathryn, Thai star Gun Atthaphan and South Korean actress Park Eun Bin were bestowed with the same award.
The actress shared some selfie she took with her seatmate, Gun Atthaphan, on her Instagam account.

Kathryn is the second Filipina actress who was recognized at the esteemed award ceremony.
In 2022, Belle Mariano received the Outstanding Asian Star award for her talent and performance in the ABS-CBN teen television series “He’s Into Her (HIH)”.
Founded in 2006, SDA is an annual award ceremony that recognizes the excellence of television production not only in South Korea but also in international countries.
