Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo will be flying to South Korea for the 18th edition of the Seoul Drama International Awards where she was hailed the Outstanding Asian Star last July.
Bernardo will be representing the Philippines on the awarding ceremony on September 21, with a live broadcast on South Korea’s KBS2TV.
As she clinched the victory for the prestigious drama festival, Bernardo thanked her fans and the team behind the drama series "2 Good 2 Be True," saying that she would never get this far without them.
In a media conference, the 27-year-old actress said that being nominated is already an achievement, and she never expected that she would be flying to Seoul to receive the award.
Bernardo went on to say that she is proud to attend the award ceremony representing ABS-CBN and the whole team of the drama series.
Apart from achieving an award, she is also preparing her year ahead with three movies lined up, such as "A Very Good Girl, in which she will be working with award-winning actress Dolly de Leon; "Elena 1944," and a yet-to-be-titled film with her long-time boyfriend Daniel Padilla.
Meanwhile, SDA was created in 2006 and is believed to be South Korea's only international drama festival that focuses on global drama trends.
Belle Mariano attended SDA in 2022 to receive the same award as one of the region's five awardees.
