Good girl gone bad!
Filipina actress Kathryn Bernardo's fierce and stunning portraits for fashion and beauty magazine Preview are making waves across social media over the weekend.
On Friday, Nov. 10, Preview. ph revealed that Kathryn is the cover girl of its November issue.
"In the wake of a much-lauded performance in “A Very Good Girl,” #KathrynBernardo reflects back on her 20-year acting career, and why she was never afraid to experiment–even in the very beginning," it captioned in a Facebook post.
Kathryn appeared on the cover wearing a heart-shaped bra and white and black plants and paired with a hair-cropped short hair — very far from her usual long and shining hair.
Preview. ph posted several shots of Kathryn fiercely posing inside a half-filled aquarium and her don in a black sleeveless dress paired with a black cat ears hat.
Preview.ph also dropped a 1-minute and 18-second behind-the-scene video of Kathryn during her photoshoot.
"Twenty years after her start in the industry, Kathryn Bernardo Official is letting go of expectations, unafraid to experiment in uncharted territory—whether as an artist, or the woman behind the screen. #PreviewLovesKathryn #PreviewXKathryn," Preview captioned.
In the background of the video, the 27-year-old actress conveyed, "Growing up, people expect me to be, kind of course, understanding. They expect you to do what is right. The pressure is just too much."
"At the end of the day, you just have to be a good person. You just have to stick with your values, just listen to all the voices. I don't please everybody, I just do things that make me happy," she continued.
Kathryn's Preview shots received praise from netizens, with many saying this was her most mature and daring magazine cover yet.
"kathryn bernardo DEVOURED this preview magazine shoot," a user said in an X (formerly Twitter) post.
"DEFINITELY KILLING IT! This only shows that even being in the for 20 years she still has a lot to show for us!!!" another one commented.
"Eventually, people needs to come out from their shells. 1st it was Nadine [Lustre], then Liza [Soberano], now Kathryn. No one should stop a woman who wants to be free and be herself. That’s girl power!" a user commented.
Kathryn recently marked her 20th year in the entertainment industry.
In August this year, she starred in a box-office hit film “A Very Good Girl" with Golden Globes Best Supporting Actress Dolly de Leon.
