Reel-to-real-life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, best known for their love team "KathNiel," were among the top celebrity taxpayers in 2022, according to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
During the recognition rites on Wednesday, March 8, Daniel and Kathryn thanked BIR for the award as they hope that they have inspired people to pay their taxes.
Aside from the two, other top celebrity taxpayers were Coco Martin, Judy Ann Santos, Liza Soberano, Vic Sotto, Willie Revillame, Michael V., Sarah Geronimo, Anne Curtis, and Maja Salvador.
Keeping aligned with this year's tax campaign theme "Tulong-Tulong sa Pagbangon. Kapit Kamay sa Pag-Ahon. Buwis na Wasto, Alay para sa Pilipino”, RR Nos. 7B – East NCR and 8B – South NCR, reported the region’s accomplishments for 2022 and laid down plans and programs for 2023 during their respective kick-offs.
In a statement, BIR said this year’s tax campaign theme aims to remind the taxpaying public that we can all be partners of the government in nation-building by doing our fair share of paying our taxes correctly.
