Princess of Wales Kate Middleton revealed on Saturday, March 23, that she is being treated for cancer.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post, Kensington Palace shared a video message from Middleton following her abdominal surgery in January.
“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” she said.
“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” the Princess of Wales added.

Middleton did not reveal the type of cancer in her message, with a Kensington Palace spokesperson saying it would not share “any further private medical information” because she has “a right to medical privacy” as other people do.
The Princess of Wales concluded her personal message by saying that she is “getting stronger every day” by focusing on what would help her heal.
Middleton was earlier involved in a series of controversies regarding her whereabouts after she was last seen in December last year.
Major news agencies also pulled out the Princess of Wales’ “Mother’s Day” photo following “manipulated” concerns which she claimed was an honest mistake on her part as an “amateur photographer” who occasionally experiments with editing.
