The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that Kanlaon Volcano continued to emit dark ash on Monday.
"ATM: Continuous emission of dark ash ongoing at Kanlaon Volcano since 11:45 am. An advisory will be released," PHIVOLCS said in an X post.

In addition, the eruption was accompanied by weak, low-frequency volcanic earthquakes.
"This has produced a dark plume roughly 1.2 kilometers tall that is drifting to the northwest. Ash emission has been ongoing and ashfall is expected to fall over communities of Negros Occidental northwest to west of the volcano," PHIVOLCS said in its recent advisory.
Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Kanlaon, indicating magmatic unrest and an increased likelihood of sudden, potentially stronger explosive eruptions that could pose life-threatening volcanic hazards to nearby communities.
Furthermore, communities within a six-kilometer radius of the summit crater are urged to remain evacuated due to the risks of pyroclastic density currents (PDCs), ballistic projectiles, ashfall, lava flows, rockfalls, and other related hazards.
Kanlaon Volcano erupted explosively on December 9, prompting the elevation of its alert level.
Meanwhile, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) is considering expanding the permanent danger zone around the volcano due to the threat of lahar flows.
