This year’s Billboard Music Awards (BBMA) have recognized Korean pop music (K-pop)!

K-pop artists have won big for this year’s BBMA, starting with Jungkook of sensational K-pop boygroup BTS, who clinched the award for Global K-pop Song for his single “Seven”.

This recognization marks his first solo win at the awards ceremony after previously winning 12 awards with other BTS members.

K-pop boygroup Stray Kids also received the K-pop album award with their third album, “5 Star,” which topped the Billboard 200 chart in June for 16 weeks.

The group became the second K-pop boy group to receive the award at the BBMA, following BTS.

Moreover, K-pop girl group NewJeans, which is also under the same agency as Jungkook, was awarded the Top Global Artist Award, as they have been recognized for their achievements in the K-pop industry since their debut in 2022.

Lastly, K-pop girl group Blackpink made it to their first BBMA win as they took home the top K-pop Touring Artist Award, a newly established award category, for holding the biggest world tour in K-pop girl group history this year.
