PBBM declares June 28 as national holiday in observance of Eid'l Adha

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has officially declared June 28 as a regular holiday in the country in observance of Eid Al-Adha or Feast of Sacrifice in Islam.
The declaration was stipulated under Proclamation No. 258 dated June 13 and released on Wednesday, June 14.
"Following the 1444 Hijrah Islamic Lunar Calendar, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has recommended that 28 June 2023, Wednesday, be declared a national holiday, in observance of Eid'l Adha," the proclamation reads.
The Islamic holiday was originally celebrated every 10th day of Zhul Hijja, the 12th month of the Islamic Calendar, in adherance to Republic Act No. 9849.

The order was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
