Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile on Sunday called comedian and “It’s Showtime!” host Vice Ganda as "disrespectful" and "abusive".
He made the remarks a week after the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ordered the suspension of the live noontime program “It’s Showtime!” for 12 airing days.
"'Yung binigay na katangian mo sa iyong lipunan ay hindi na tinitignan ang kakulangan ng iba. Sarili mo na lang iniisip mo, akala mo maganda yung ginagawa mo. Akala mo maganda yung ginagawa mo. Pero bastos ka, super bastos ka, bastos kang tao," Enrile said in his program "Dito sa Bayan ni Juan" aired on Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) channel.
"Wala kang decency. Hindi lang walang decency kungdi abusado," he added.
The Chief Presidential Legal Counsel said he long knew the attitude of the 45-year-old host, and claimed that her "disrespectfulness" has been making her rich and popular.
"Ang problema dito sa bansa natin kung meron kang power, political, social, economic or whatever, halos hindi mo na iniisip ‘yong kapwa," he added.
Moreover, Enrile labeled Vice Ganda as "salacious" or lustful over the reported episode of "Isip Bata".
It can be recalled that last July 31, the MTRCB summoned the producers of "It’s Showtime!" to explain the alleged "indecent acts" by Vice Ganda and her real-life partner, Ion Perez" during the program.
In the said "Isip Bata" episode, Ion was seen eating a cake using his index finger. He then offered the cake to Vice Ganda, who also ate the cake using her index finger.
Social media personality Rendon Labador particualrly called out the couple.
