Veteran journalist and columnist Regina 'Rina' Jimenez David has passed away at the age of 68 due to illness.
Her daughter, Miya, announced this in a Facebook post on Sunday morning, November 12.
David is known for her columns in the Philippine Daily Inquirer which centers specifically on issues related to women's health.
She is also a fighter against government officials and agencies involved in controversies and hot issues.
In 2004, David was recognized by the Global Media Awards as the Best Columnist for Excellence in Population Reporting Award.
She wrote books entitled "Woman at Large" which is a compilation of her columns from 1989 to 1994 that became a finalist in the National Book Awards in 1994, and “Nightmare Journeys” which entailed the stories of women survivors of trafficking.
