Journalist Gretchen Malalad on Monday, Nov. 20, warned the public against her former helper who attempted to poison her cats using muriatic acid.
“My helper, Cristry Radoc, attempted to poison all of my rescue cats using muriatic acid. Nilagay niya ang muriatic acid sa mga tubig ng mga cats,” she said in a Facebook post.
Malalad recalled how she reviewed the CCTV after being alerted by the incident and saw the helper pretending to drink from a mug before pouring it on the cats’ bowls.
“The water, when I smelled it, it was so strong. Binuhos ko siya dun sa lababo namin and nag-turn dark or nangitim yung lababo namin dahil nag-react yung muriatic acid sa stainless steel,” she added.
Malalad underscored that she was letting people know regarding the incident because Radoc is currently finding a job and deemed it “dangerous” following what transpired in her house.
“I’m sharing this now because she’s seeking new employment and I don’t know, I mean it’s so dangerous to have someone like her,” she said.
She added filing a complaint against Radoc where the latter seemed to lack remorse over the matter.
“During the hearing, napaamin siya ng barangay captain at mga kagawad na in fact nilason niya talaga yung pusa and she has no remorse. Sinasabi pa niya, ‘Bakit meron bang namatay? Namatay ba yung pusa?’ [...] Wala talaga siyang pagsisisi at siya na nga yung nanglason siya pa yung galit,” she added.
Malalad urged the public to share Radoc’s picture on social media to prevent the same incident from happening to anyone.
“Please share the picture of Cristy Radoc on social media so hindi na siya makapasok pa. Baka may mga biktima pa siyang animals dito, manlason pa siya or worse baka manlason pa siya ng tao. I’m not saying this dahil sinisiraan ko siya because she did it, she tried to kill all of my cats,” she said.
