Utah Jazz and Filipino-American guard Jordan Clarkson are on the verge of finalizing a significant contract extension of $55 million that will keep the standout guard with the team for the next few seasons.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, this agreement covers the upcoming season and extends through the 2025-2026 season.

Since joining the Jazz in a trade back in December 2019, Clarkson has played a crucial role on the team, adapting to various positions.

Throughout his initial two and a half seasons, he emerged as one of the NBA's premier scorers coming off the bench.

In the previous season, Clarkson transitioned into a starting role and delivered impressive performances, averaging 20.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game in 61 appearances for Utah.

The Jazz have been proactive during the offseason, notably securing a reported trade for John Collins from the Atlanta Hawks.

With Clarkson on the verge of signing an extension and a core lineup featuring All-Star Lauri Markkanen, along with promising second-year players Walker Kessler and Ochai Agbaji, the Jazz appear well-positioned to build upon last season's unexpected 37-45 finish.
