Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla is anticipated to take over as the new secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), replacing Benhur Abalos.
Department of Justice Secretary Boying Remulla, Jonvic's brother, revealed that Jonvic is slated to take his oath of office on October 8, Tuesday.
Earlier today, Remulla officially withdrew his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the gubernatorial race in Cavite.
Moreover, it has been reported that his nephew Francisco Gabriel Remulla, son of Boying, will run for governor in his stead.
Before his appointment, Remulla had been involved in politics for nearly three decades, starting as a Board Member for Cavite's Second District, then serving three terms as Vice Governor and four non-consecutive terms as Governor.
