The number of jobless Filipinos decreased to 2.09 million or 4.2 percent in October while the underemployment rate climbed, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said on Thursday.

In a briefing, the PSA said the jobless rate in October was much lower than the 2.26 million or 4.5 percent recorded in September 2023.

Meanwhile, the underemployment rate in the country rose to 11.7 percent in October, which was higher than the 10.7 percent clip in September.
