Kapuso actor Joaquin Domagso bagged the Best Actor award for his portrayal of “Knight” in “That Boy in the dark” at the 2020 Boden International Film Festival (BIFF) in Sweden.
The winners of the film festival were revealed on its official website on Monday, Dec. 26.
The “That Boy in the dark" was also recognized as the Best Film while Adolf Alix Jr. was rewarded as Best Director.
Before Domagso’s recognition in Sweden, he was also named Best Actor in the 16th Toronto Film Festival and Script Awards in Canada last November.
He also won the same award at the 2022 Five Continents International Film Festival (FCIFF) in Valenzuela.
The “That Boy in the dark” was first screened in international theaters.
This coming January 8, it is set to premiere on the local big screens nationwide.
The story follows Knight who developed an eye disease after a fatal car accident. When he has become totally blind at 19 years old, he develops a "special skill" in the sense of hearing.
However, with this skill, he has been hearing "strange wailings" of a woman.
Joaquin is the son of former Manila mayor and presidential aspirant Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso.
