Lyceum of the Philippines University’s JM Bravo has regained consciousness following a serious incident during an NCAA Season 100 game on Saturday, October 19.

Bravo collapsed on the court late in the fourth quarter of the match against the Arellano Chiefs, which the Pirates lost 86-91. He was immediately stretchered off and taken to the hospital for emergency care.

After being rushed to the hospital, Bravo is now conscious and has been able to communicate with his coach, Gilbert Malabanan, as well as NCAA management committee chairman Hercules Callanta.

According to Callanta, Bravo will remain under concussion protocol for 48 hours before being cleared to play.

He emphasized that Bravo should rest and refrain from attending practice and school at least until Monday to allow for proper recovery.

Additionally, Callanta confirmed that the incident was unrelated to Bravo’s prior spine injury and noted that he could still return to play if cleared by the medical team.

Originally ruled out for the season due to a spine injury sustained during pre-season, Bravo was cleared to return to the lineup for the second round of the NCAA season.
