Senator Jinggoy Estrada on Wednesday called the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutors "puting unggoy" and "dayuhang unggoy" as they push the investigation into the Duterte administration's bloody war against drugs.
In his manifestation in the plenary session, Estrada once again expressed his strong opposition against the chamber's decision to resume the probe into the alleged crimes and abuses committed during the illegal drugs campaign.
"Kung sino man ang pinapunta ng ICC dito sa ating bansa, kung sino mang Poncio Pilatong mga prosecutor, itong mga puting unggoy na ito, hindi na dapat papasukin dito sa ating bansa because that will be an exercise in futility, Mr. President," he said.
The Senator said he believes that the Department of Justice will uphold its primary function of upholding the rule of law, and the public should trust the country's justice system.
"Katulad nga ng sinabi ng matalik ko na kaibigan na si [Senator Robinhood] Padilla, hindi tayo dapat magpauto. Hindi tayo dapat sumunod kung saan man... kung anumang instructions na ibibigay sa atin nitong mga dayuhang unggoy na ito," he further said.
On Tuesday, Estrada filed Resolution 492 expressing the Senate's strong opposition against the said probe.
He filed this after Padilla filed a resolution seeking to defend former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte from a possible investigation by the ICC.
