It was a traumatizing experience for It’s Showtime host Jhong Hilario, his partner Maia Azores, and their two-year-old daughter Sarina when a magnitude 7.6 earthquake hit Japan on January 1.
Hilario and his family were staying on the 22nd floor of a hotel room in Osaka when the tremor happened, as seen on his Facebook page.
When the quake happened, Hilario led a prayer while his daughter was lying in bed, and Azores suggested that they get out of the building, but the TV host explained that it was not advisable since the elevators wouldn’t function as the earthquake occurred.
As he posted the video on his Facebook account, Hilario extended his prayers to those who were affected by the earthquake in Japan.
It can be traumatizing for Azores since it was her first time to experience such a tremor while staying on the 22nd floor, adding that a tsunami warning was announced that made them feel extreme fear during those moments, according to Hilario.
The family safely returned to the Philippines on Tuesday, January 2.
