Melvin Jerusalem ceded the WBO world mini-flyweight title after losing to Puerto Rican fighter Oscar Collazo via technical knockout on Saturday, May 27, at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California.
Jerusalem staggered in the seventh round after enduring a left cross from Collazo.
The Filipino boxer managed to survive until the bell rang, but his corner decided to ask referee Ray Corona to end the bout supposed to last for 12 rounds.
The fight marked the seventh win of the undefeated Collazo, who also has five knockouts.

Meanwhile, Jerusalem, who won the belt last January against Japanese boxer Masataka Taniguchi, dropped to a professional record of 20 wins, three losses, and 12 knockouts.
