A woman was killed and buried in the ground due to her boyfriend's jealousy in Queensville Subdivision, Brgy 171, North Caloocan.
The victim, identified as Arjean Cabangunay, 21 years old from Balon Bato, Quezon City, was reported missing by her parents at the police station after failing to return home since she was fetched by the suspect in Quezon City on Sunday, June 11.
The suspect, Jeffrey Montales, a construction worker, was apprehended.
Last night, the lifeless body of the victim was discovered in an empty lot within the subdivision, where the suspect buried his girlfriend.
In an interview with DZRH, the suspect admitted to strangling his girlfriend to death out of jealousy.
"Nahuli ko po kasi 'yung [girlfriend] ko na may karelasyon na iba. Ilang beses ko na pong nahuli," the suspect said.
He also stated that he had been feeling tired and hungry for days due to constant worry about the state of their relationship.
"Dala po ng selos, saka po gutom din pon ako no'n, ilang araw po akong hindi nakakain. Parang [naapektuhan] na po 'yung sistema ko kaya ko po nagawa," he added.
Montales will face charges of murder.
