Jay Ruiz has formally sworn in before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the Ad Interim Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Alongside Ruiz, Atty. Clarissa Castro took her oath as Undersecretary of the PCO and Palace Press Officer during the ceremony.

Ruiz is set to replace outgoing PCO Secretary Cesar Chavez, who announced his resignation on February 20.

In a report by RH Leth Narciso, it was mentioned that Chavez personally introduced Ruiz and Castro to the Malacañang Press Corps and the PCO staff.

Furthermore, Castro clarified that while she will not serve as the President's Spokesperson, she will assist in providing wider explanations of the President's statements.

"Ang PCO ang tulay ng pamahalaan sa mamamayan. Sa pamumuno ni Secretary Jay Ruiz, kasama si Atty. Claire bilang Palace Press Officer, sisiguraduhin nating bawat Pilipino ay may boses, may alam at kasama sa pagbuo ng Bagong Pilipinas," the President said in a Facebook post.

Meanwhile, President Marcos instructed the PCO to guarantee that accurate information reaches the public.

In an ambush interview at Malacañang, Ruiz emphasized that President Marcos' directive is clear: to prevent the public from being misled by the rampant spread of disinformation.

Ruiz is committed to ensuring a smooth transition at the PCO, focusing on delivering the President's directives and providing the public with accurate information about government programs.

The new PCO secretary urged the media to support their efforts in spreading accurate information and informing Filipinos about the government's initiatives.
