MANILA, Philippines – The Japanese Government is allotting JPY389 million (approximately PHP150 million*) to fund the master’s degree studies of 20 young Filipino government employees for Academic Year 2026-2027 at leading universities in Japan.

According to a news release from the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique Manalo, signed and exchanged notes for “The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship” (JDS).

The JDS is part of Japan’s continued support for the human resource development initiatives of the Philippines, the embassy said.

It aims to enhance the expertise of Filipino professionals, enabling them to contribute further to national development, the embassy added.
