Actress Liza Soberano is set to venture into a career in Hollywood and she will be managed by fellow actor James Reid, her talent manager Ogie Diaz confirmed.
In his recent vlog, Diaz said his contract with Soberano, one of his biggest talents, will end on May 31.
“Legally speaking, ako pa rin po ang manager ni Liza Soberano hanggang May 31, 2022. 11 years po kaming nagsama ni Liza bilang mag-ama at bilang manager-talent,” he said.
Diaz said he had asked the actress via video chat if she wanted to have a new contract with him. Soberano later sent him a long message declining his offer and saying she wants to pursue opportunities in Hollywood.
“Magalang naman ‘yung bata, in fairness, at saka kilala mo naman ako, kapag happiness na ng tao ang concern, ibinibigay ko ‘yan,” he said.
"Siyempre hindi naman ako 'yung tipong alam ko rin 'yung hanggang Hollywood. Kumbaga hanggang dito lang ang kaalaman ko bilang manager," Diaz continued.
He also confirmed that this was the reason why both Reid and Soberano were spotted attending the Gold Gala event in Los Angeles.
"as a manager si James Reid. Kaya pansinin mo magkasama sila sa gala. Hindi lang si James ang kasama ni Liza kung hindi ‘yung mga ka-partners nila, kasi mayroon silang business group at kasama roon si Liza," Diaz said.
Diaz also assured that he and Soberano parted on good terms.
