Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, Dr. Gabrielle “Gabby” Henry, continues to receive intensive care in a Thai hospital three days after a fall during the preliminary competition of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization confirmed the update on Friday, citing a statement from Gabby’s sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, who is in Thailand with their mother, Maureen Henry.
“Gabby isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly,” Dr. Henry-Samuels said.
Medical personnel have indicated that Gabrielle will need to remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for at least seven days as doctors continue to closely monitor her condition.
The organization appealed to fans and supporters both in Jamaica and around the world to keep Gabrielle in their thoughts and prayers.
“We respectfully ask the public and social media users to avoid sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that may cause further distress to the family,” the statement read. “Our primary focus remains on Gabrielle’s recovery and the well-being of her loved ones.”
The mishap took place during Wednesday night’s Evening Gown segment of the preliminary competition.
Wearing an orange evening gown, Gabrielle lost her footing on a dark portion of the runway and fell from the platform. She was immediately attended to by the pageant’s medical team and was stretchered to a nearby hospital.
The incident has sparked an outpouring of concern from the international pageant community, with fans and fellow contestants offering their support and wishing her a speedy recovery.
