PPL Entertainment on Monday confirmed the passing of award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose on Sunday, March 3.

The management released an official statement on its Facebook page, informing everyone that further details on her demise will be shared to the public once they became available.

“It saddens us to inform everyone of the untimely passing of Miss Jaclyn Jose (real name: Mary Jane Guck). More details will be shared as soon as they are available,” the statement read.

“The Guck and Eigenmann families are requesting for everyone please pray for the eternal repose of Miss Jaclyn Jose and for them to be allowed the respect and privacy to mourn her passing and navigate these difficult times,” it added.

Before passing away at the age of 59, Jose last appeared in the TV series “Batang Quiapo” as Jail Chief Supt./BGEN Dolores Espinas.

She also participated in the Metro Manila Film Festival film entry “Broken Heart’s Trip” last year.

Known for her great acting skills, the veteran actress brought pride to the Philippines as the first-ever Filipino actor to receive the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016 for her role “Ma’ Rosa.”

Jose also established her name by winning five prestigious trophies from Gawad Urian, two Luna Awards awards, a FAMAS award, and an MMFF award.

Mary Jane Guck, her real name, was survived by two children, Andi Eigenmann and Gwen Garimond.
