Controversy erupted on social media after former SexBomb Girls member Izzy Trazona’s husband, Alvin Aragon, denied influencing his wife’s departure from the group, stating it was because of the Lord’s guidance.
In a radio interview last week, Aragon clarified that he was not married to Izzy when the latter decided leave the dance group in 2009. From then on, he questioned who prompted Izzy to resign, saying it was God after she became a Christian.
The clarification came after Izzy revealed in an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that she had asked her husband’s permission before her surprise appearance at the SexBomb Girls’ rAWnd 4 concert.
The former Starstruck season 1 alum said that he hesitated to agree with his wife’s request, stating, “Kasi hindi madali eh. Nung sinabi niya sa akin na mag-share siya ng love ni Jesus sa concert. Hindi madali ‘yon na desisyon. Ang dami kasing tao. MOA Arena is 15,000 ang capacity tapos magsasalita. Hindi madali, ‘Teka lang, Hon.’ So, pinag-pray ko muna. Tapos nag-devotion ako.”
Surprise Appearance at SexBomb Girls’ rAWnd 4 concert
According to Izzy, she was not able to get tickets for the concert, but she contacted Mia Pangyarihan. Although she was unable to secure tickets, Mia gave Izzy an all-access backstage pass. The former intended to watch the concert with her husband and youngest child. Her surprise appearance was also unplanned, and she added that Mia had requested it so that she and the other girls could have a mini reunion on stage.
“Pagkalabas [ko ng stage], ayun nga po, yung heart ko talagang nag-uumpaw na na-miss ko ‘tong mga ‘to. Na-miss ko sila and from 2009, noong nag-resign po ako. Ngayon ko lang sila ulit on stage nakasama,” she expressed.
“Sobrang emotional. I love them so much. Sobrang mahal na mahal, namimiss. Every time they invite me na, ‘punta ka naman sa concert,’ lagi kami nag iiyakan ni Rochelle na ‘I’m sorry’ ganyan, ‘hindi ako makakapunta’ umiiyak din siya,” she added.
“Hindi lang pag share ng gospel ng gospel yung nangyari, but the reunion of us na magkasamasama in stage tapos kumanta kami,” she continued, stating she missed hugging the girls the most.
The Rebuttal
Apart from the earlier remarks, Alvin also drew backlash after he responded to comments comparing him to the other husbands of the dance group. According to him, the other girls’ husbands were kind because they allowed their wives to push through with the concert.
“’Yun ba ang basehan ng mabait na husband? Payagan lang mag concert?” he questioned, adding that he did not want to see his wife wearing see-through clothing in promotional material for the concert.
The former Starstruck alum clarified that he only wants to protect Izzy, stating that several men would see his wife wearing provocative clothing while dancing on stage. In response to comments about SexBomb Girls member Sunshine Garcia’s husband, Alex Castro, the former said, “Sinasabi nila, ‘Buti pa ‘yung asawa ni Sunshine, Vice Governor, pinayagan sila mag-concert.’ Dapat nga hindi eh. Dapat nga, ‘yung asawa mo, ingatan mo. Hindi mo hahayaang magsuot ng mga damit na para pagnasaan ng mga lalaki.”
In a separate post, Sunshine thanked her husband for his support and understanding.
