Actress-vlogger Ivana Alawi cleared her name on the romantic rumors between her and Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, emphasizing her relationship status with a "respectable businessman", based on her Facebook post on Saturday.

After the speculations and screenshots of messages from an exchanged conversation between Benitez and a text message from a hidden phone number, Alawi addressed the issue to debunk the rumors linking her to the mayor and also the owner and producer of Brightlight Productions.

According to the “Batang Quiapo” star, she chose to stay quiet and ignored the allegations because she believed that she didn’t need to say anything.

She decided to speak up to clear her name from false accusations and hurtful words that were attacking her mom and sister, Mona Alawi.

Alawi stressed that she has no romantic relationship with Benitez, explaining that she became friends with the latter when she had a job in Bacolod and described the city mayor as accommodating and friendly.

To clear things up, she clarified and openly told everyone through her post that she is happily in a relationship with a "respectable businessman."

Alawi is now busy working on her role as Bubbles in “Batang Quiapo” and her job as a vlogger, in which she said that this will be the first and last time addressing the issue.
